Garden Tower Defense Best Units

Sort order: DPS balanced against cost, not raw DPS alone

This page ranks units by weighing max DPS against Cost Efficiency (DPS per 1000 spent) together — a unit with lower raw DPS but much better value per point spent can rank above a higher-DPS unit here. For a pure DPS-only ranking, see Best DPS instead — the order there is different on purpose.

Read this before chasing a "best unit" recommendation

Two of the units most commonly recommended as "the best" by third-party content are actually no longer obtainable: Golem (limited exclusive, removed after its June 2025 event) and Astraflora (limited stock of 10,101, sold out after its February 2026 event). If a guide tells you to farm for one of these, you can't — they're gone. This page separates units you can actually still get from ones that are historical strength references only.

Currently obtainable, ranked by DPS + cost efficiency combined

Only units with a Cost Efficiency figure the wiki explicitly states are ranked here — we don't calculate our own (the wiki's formula divides max DPS by cumulative upgrade cost across all 5 levels, not just the base placement cost, so a guessed calculation would likely be wrong).

These aren't strictly "better/worse" in a single dimension — they fill different roles:

Astraflora fires a piercing beam that refracts onto additional enemies behind the target — it is not a support/buff unit, despite some secondhand summaries describing it that way.

Unconfirmed

We're intentionally listing fewer units with real numbers rather than a longer list borrowed from unsourced tier rankings.
